Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Porch Party

Welcome to my porch! Rhondi's having another big porch party this year so don't miss out. Go on over and check out all the festivities. She even made you some refreshments. Our little porch at Mimi's Cottage is all ready for summer.

We can't plant any annuals here in northern Utah until May 15th. We can still get a hard frost and there goes all your hard work, so these little plants were just planted. Don't worry, they'll grow and fill the pot in another month.

Have a seat in one of the rocking chairs...

or on the new porch swing the mister installed last week. Love my funeral basket. That red vintage cooler was used for milk that was delivered to your door. I found it at a thrift store.

My little goat wagon was a birthday gift from the mister a few years ago.

I usually hang a boston fern on this old birdcage stand. This year I'm trying an ivy plant instead.

A "bouquet" of flags in a sap bucket.

Thanks for stopping by. There are still a lot of porches to visit, so have fun and come back soon.

What a pretty porch! I love your red door - it has to be my favorite colour for a door. I also have a soft spot for a yellow house, as my parents' house was yellow.

I feel right at home here Mimi Sue! I know we have talked about this before, but my house is yellow with black shutters and a red door too!

I love all of your touches on your porch - the ivy looks great hanging from that vintage birdcage stand.

Your porch is delightful! I love the white furniture against the yellow of your house and all the red accents. I do love a porch swing. Our porch isn't wide enough for one :(
thanks for joining the party!

You porch is so perfect. You seriously found that milk box at DI?! I RARELY find cool stuff there. But then, I rarely go there because I hate trying to commandeer my kids away from the nasty toys. Note to self: brave the DI more. Anyway, it looks so cute and I'm impressed at how fast you made cushions for the swing--they look good.

I love the color of your front door! Everything looks really pretty. We have the same problem with planting here in PA. Only I need to wait until Memorial Day and even then we had some cold nights and I lost a few things. What a great place to spend a warm summer day! Your porch is very welcoming!
