Christmas at Mimi's Cottage

We are having our little neighborhood home tour tomorrow and I'm just about ready. I've been trying to clean a little everyday and I'm just about finished with the decorations. Well, I could still do a bunch more but I really should just stop. So here's a little preview of Mimi's Cottage.
When my kids were younger we bought this nativity at one of those ceramic places where you paint your own. We spent a few weeks cleaning them, then painting, then firing and now when I unwrap it I have those fun memories of the family creating this nativity. Please ignore that wire thing on the left. I now have a scripture I printed out on the computer stuck in the wire.

I stitched the Merry Christmas and have made several more for gifts.
I love my little sparkly village. I try to add to it every year at the after Christmas sales. The Mommy gave me a few one year as a gift.

  1. Oh your cottage looks so lovely and inviting. I really love your nativity too. I have my Grandmothers and it has such nice memories for me as well. I can still picture it under her tree and then under my parents as I was growing up. I hope you have a wonderful time on your house tour. I know your guests will love your home.

  2. Everything looks wonderful! I would be such a basket case over a tour of my house! What a wonderful memory for your nativity! My mom gave me my figures for my birthday the year I was married. My husband gave me the wooden stable to use with the figures.
    Blessings,

  3. That Merry Christmas stitchery you made is so darling-- I love the holly greenery border on it.

I can't wait to come and see everything tomorrow. I didn't realize you'd said Alicia's house was included--there's another I've always wanted to seet he inside of. I'm curious to see what her painter husband has done with their walls.

  6. Mimi, Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of your home at Christmas. Many blessings at this home! I am more than happy to have you copy my hearts. I hope that you too will make a gift of one to someone special in your life. My first heart was given to my mother at the age of 7. Merry Christmas to you! Elizabeth PS Did you try your hand at my puzzle to try and win the First Snow Heart? It is not too late!
