I love Thanksgiving. It's such a home and family kind of holiday. No over the top decorating, no stressful gift buying just good food and good company. This year we'll be having Thanksgiving dinner at Mimi's Cottage. Every other year the kids go to their spouse's family dinner. There should be about twelve of us around our big table.

I love turkey platters. I found this one at a thrift store for a couple of dollars.

I bought this one at an antique store years ago.

This one is from Pottery Barn but I bought it at a yard sale. Of course you get the best deals on Thanksgiving stuff at the thrift stores around Easter.
Oh your decor is just amazing!! I especially love the pumpkins lined up in your window boxes! Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Mimi!

Everything is beautiful! I adore those turkey platters, always wanted one but didn't want to pay the big price for it. I would love to find a treasure like that at the thrift store:>) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Mimi!
ReplyDeleteHi Mimi, can I come to your house for Thanksgiving. What a most charming place. I absolutely love those two white cake plates and the glass dome. And what a find on the turky platters.
ReplyDeleteDo you think we can meet in Farmington sometime before Christmas. I think we owe it to our new silver friendship to do it.

Sounds like we are doing the same things this coming week! Our gang is all coming too, my food is in the house, now the cooking begins! I love all your decor especially outside and I have turkey platers like that too. I like the gold acorns under glass too..I LOVE acorns! Have a good one my friend..I'll be thinking about you! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteOh your home is so lovely and inviting--the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving. I hope you have a special day with all of your family. This year it is my inlaws turn to host Thanksgiving. My husband has a large family so my mother in law's table will be full. I will be bringing the stuffing and sweet potato casserole. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

I found my dining room table today so I guess that means I have to do dinner. There will be 26 of us.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful cottage. The photos are wonderful. Here I am thinking I don't really want to cook this year, and I read your wonderful post and feel a bit guilty :-) I should be thinking about the fact that next year both of my boys could be out of the country (possible plans after they graduate) and I should be so thankful that they're coming home. Thanks for reminding me of my blessings.

I like Thanksgiving for that reason, too. I love your pumpkins in the window boxes. And the goat cart--is it the same one Sis. Kenard had in her antique store a long time ago she wanted to sell for $3000? It's cute. My kids would turn it into matchsticks. ;)
ReplyDeleteI defintely want to keep my lanterns up, but I need to take them down when the weather's bad--one broke in half (the ice inside was too heavy) right when the mailman was walking past it. Lucky us, he didn't get hurt.
Your home and collections are just beautiful and perfect!! I love the cart, your pumpkins on the sills and the calender plate.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy fluffing!

Hi Mimi, how are you? Ok, about meeting. Not this week because of cleaning and getting ready for The big turkey day with our families, but next week for sure. I want to meet at JaBoR at 11:00 and go from there. Tell me what days are good for you next week?

PS I marked the crock pot chicken recipe to make some day. Sounded so good and looked really yummy!
Love your decorations. Each one is such a nice touch. TO answer your question on my blog - that is vintage fabric, if I know the one you asked about. Wish I could get yardage of it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAll the little houses in New England lined their pumpkins under the windows like that and some put baby pumpkins above their doors. So cute!
