It's the Kaysville Tabernacle and it was built in 1912. It's about a block and a half from Mimi's Cottage so we're able to walk to church when the weather is good.
It has wonderful architecture, wood trim and moldings. 
Not to mention gorgeous stained glass windows. In the mornings when the sun is pouring through these windows, little rainbows of color are everywhere.
We love this building so much. We are so blessed to be able to see our neighbors and friends here each week. 
We listen to the beautiful music, we sense the history of the people who've met in this building before us. But mostly we feel the spirit when we renew our covenants and worship in this wonderful place.
I know it well...it is so beautiful. I love the windows, what treasures they are, and it has been so well taken care of. Lucky you to get to go there every Sunday. There is a really old one here too that is our stake center, I'll post about it one day. Come say hi :D

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space in which to worship God. I love old churches with their beautiful wood and stained glass. Our church is over 150 years old...so much history right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Thanks for sharing these pictures Mimi.

ReplyDeleteThe new churches that are being built now are very functional, but they are neglecting the beauty that could (and should) be included in the design. Lucky you to be near such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteI love this old building, we still have the old AG ward building. Not much as style goes...just keep adding on and adding on! The church building is beautiful.

It is amazing! I love this building. You are blessed. I have to go to church in the square no architectural beauty buildings with narrow hallways and small classrooms. I miss the old days when the buildings were huge but your building is even eras before those. Just amazing, truly amazing. To me that is what churches in heaven will look like.
