Apricot Jam

One of my adorable neighbors brought me a box of overly ripe apricots and told me his favorite jam was apricot. I got the hint. I got out my grandma's ugly but oh so wonderful aluminum pan.

I chopped up the apricots, added the pectin, stirred and stirred, in went the sugar, (lots and lots of sugar), stirred some more and then...

Apricot jam! I love making jam. It's one of my favorite things to do. I use the recipe in the pectin box and I'm never disappointed. I've made all kinds but I think my favorite is blackberry. The store bought kind does not compare. You should try it.

  1. I love apricot jam. Have you ever made it with pineapple? Our apricots aren't ripe yet, but I'm getting hungry for some.

Our wedding was the 24th of aug. but it has been called off......or....postponed or something......? Hummmmm. And as strange as it may seem, I don't even really know why.....I'm just trying to say Que Sera, Sera. (easier said than done tho) ♥

  2. Apricot jam is my most favorite. I haven't canned it for a couple of years though. I love your mothers old pan. Thank you for coming to my blog. I'm glad you found me. Please do come again.

  3. Hi Sue,
I love apricots, but I don't think I've ever had apricot jam. I'v made Wild Mustang grape jelly, plum preserves and fig preserves. I don't know of anyone growing apricots in this area!

  6. We need a much taller ladder. We didn't prune our apricot tree and all the good ones are where we can't reach. Jam looks good--I'm trying hard to recruit my mom's help for it--usually our fruit all rots on the ground.

  7. Ohhh, I wasn't raised in Utah but lived there while my husband was attending the U of U. While living there, my cute little VT Companion taught me how to make apricot jam and how to bottle peaches. Great memories. : )
I laughed out loud when I read about your miracle (you know, about you being 39 and all). : )
