Primroses
About a month ago Kathy posted about some beautiful primroses she found. She lives way up north in Michigan or Minnesota (where do you live Kathy?), so I figured I'd have no problem finding the little flowers here at our local Home Depot. After all we're way farther south than she is...
No such luck. It took our store a whole month longer to get them.
But they were so worth the wait.

Aren't they beautiful!? When they start to look a little bedraggled you can plant them in a very shady part of your garden and they will more often than not, survive to bloom again in the summer months. I have had these little darlings come right up through the spring snow and bloom! I'm glad you found them! By the way, I live in Southeast Michigan:>)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I can find some here in Illinois? They're sooo pretty! I can't wait to get some pansies too. They should be available any day now too. And if I could repaint our house, it would be a lovely yellow like yours!

ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!!! I am so looking forward to the day when I can start planting outside. We still have mounds of snow but it is warming up a bit so hopefully some of our white stuff will soon be gone :) Have a happy Friday :)

They are so pretty. Our local Smiths have them just as you walk through the door. I have been tempted to buy some and after seeing yours..I think I will. :)

Really, you've planted flowers all ready? Primerose you say, how long will they last? I would love to plant something in my pots. I have a deep porch too.

OH I just love Prim Roses!....I brought some in my department(in my store/work)to sell for Valentines! Have you noticed the yellow ones smell MUCH stronger then the other...Hmmm, I don't know why! Love the lovely Rose scent! Hope your sweet prim Rose's survived that little fit mother nature just threw at us here! Love your blog! Rosie T
