Forsythia

Last week I picked some bare branches from our Forsythia bush.
 
I brought them in the warm house.
 
I stuck them in a vase of water.
 
And look what happened.

 
 
A little bit of spring on this cold and rainy day.

  4. Forsythia just means it's spring to me...they are always the first blooms here. I'd really love to grow it!

  7. Beautiful! I just saw that Penny at the Comforts of Home had done this and remembered that the neighbors have a forsythia bus that they are always generous enough to let me clip. I need to get over there and snitch a few branches!

  8. I have always loved those bushes and have one in my yard. It is not blooming yet with all this snow. Maybe next week.
