Lunch With the Boys

 

A couple of weeks ago I had lunch with these two handsome boys.

 

And their mothers.

 

Born just one day apart in January.

 

Three months old already!

 

So much fun!

Barn Stars

 

It's finally warm enough to get out in the yard and get a few things done.  I spent an afternoon last week repainting some barn stars I've collected over the years. 

 

 

 

 

Now they're hanging on our chicken coop that's used for

storage and not chickens.

 

 

The Mister made new doors out of recycled fence boards for the coop so we could store the riding mower in it.

 

 

 

 

This week I'm weeding all the flower beds getting ready for a couple of truck loads of mulch.

 

Even though we had a little snow on Monday night,  I think

SPRING is finally here to stay.

Easter 2014

We're just about ready for Easter here at Mimi's Cottage.

 

All of our grands will be here on Saturday for the big

Easter egg hunt.

 

We're dyeing eggs this afternoon.

 

The house is decorated and Mother Nature decorated

our yard.

 

 

Hope your Easter is filled with family and fun.

 

And some time to reflect on our Savior and his great

sacrifice for each of us.

Sweet Potato Vines

 

A few weeks ago I saw this great idea on

the Always Fixin, Never Sittin blog. 

 

Kerin bought some sweet potatoes at the grocery store and put them in a jar with water.  They're supposed to grow roots and leaves and then she'll plant them in pots for her porch.

 

I always put sweet potato vine in my three window boxes so I

thought I'd give it a try.

 

 

 

Here they are in jars with water and in a sunny window.

 

 

Right now I have little white roots sprouting from the potatoes.

 

They've been in jars for about a month and no green leaves yet.

 

I'll let you know how they do.
