Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. We're Getting There

The weather has turned cold and we've had a little snow so our attention has turned to the inside of Mimi's Cottage. The mister and I are working on the basement so that our little California sweet peas and their mommy will have a place to stay when they come to visit later this month. So we've been mudding, taping, and sanding drywall. Texturing ceilings and sealing and priming and painting. We've been buying carpet and installing baseboards. So much fun.

Can't wait to see the end result. You two are so good at getting stuff done--My husband and I just sit around at night "planning" i.e. talking forever about what we want to do, but never doing it.

Hi, it's my first time here and I thought I'd say hi. The Halloween pictures a few posts down are so precious, especially the little lion on your front porch! :)

Many sweet blessings!

Mimi, You must have been led to me. I need to know someone else who has had the knock on the door in the middle of the night. I go along just fine for long periods of time, but last night we saw a play at the High School, and I saw my daughter's photo from a school trip in a display case; and wow I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Do those memories still visit you after such a long time? Elizabeth

Wow. You've been busy. Very impressive!! I love the color you chose in the basement.
How exciting that you started that quilt class. I belong to a quilt group and we have SO MUCH fun together. Sometimes when we meet I just bring a current sewing project and not even work on a quilt.
Also, your little trick-or-treaters were so precious!!! And the little one waiting on your welcome mat melted my heart. : )
I'll bet you're so excited for your loved ones who are coming. Don't work too hard though.
Take care-----Mary Lou

Boy I could use you guys in my family room! We'd like to take down the paneling and put up drywall but I don't know if we'll be able to do that this year.
