Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Fun Family Activities

We're really getting into the swing of Christmas festivities here at Mimi's Cottage. When the sweetpeas were here we did a little baking.
And we did a little crafting. Those snowpeople were so much fun we couldn't stop making them.
There was Christmas tree decorating, well the bottom half of the tree anyway. The mommy is very good at scrapbooking, paper crafting, and gift wrapping so while she was here I had her package some hyacinth vases I'm giving as gifts. Aren't they cute?

So we're moving into December and the calendar is already full. This year I'm going to enjoy every minute.

So much fun. I love the Hyacinth quote. My sweet mom used to always say "Hyacinths for the Soul" whenever she was buying or doing something just for fun. I've found myself saying it off and on and my girls kind of look at me funny. I will show them your post so they know I'm not the only one to use that phrase.
I'm going to Hobby Lobby today to get wrapping paper. Thanks for the hint. I've been tweaking my ceiling a little. I added some little cardinals and some snowflake lights on top of my hutch but I still want some stars so hopefully I can get them made today or tomorrow.
Have a great day. Janis

What a creative daughter you have!! If only she could give some of that to me...

Can I just say that I LOVE sugar cookies and I find myself making up occasions so I can make them. My kids are to the ages now (same as the sweetpeas) that they love to get messy and help. Although, I think Ethan just likes to pretend he is making a cookie, but is really eating the dough. His dough seems to always disappear, without a single cookie on the baking sheet. Hmmm! Smart kid!

Happy Holidays! Your decorations look wonderful.

Every photo in this post was scrumptious, for reasons all their own. The new additions to your snowman family are delightful. : )
