A couple of months ago I was visiting Secret Haven, a cute
little shop in my area, when I happened to see these wallflowers
hanging on the wall behind the counter.
I thought they were adorable so I thought I should make some
for my very own.
They are made by cutting fabric into circles, sewing the circles together,
stuffing the circles with fiberfill, then hand sewing them closed.
Then you take six strands of embroidery thread and, starting in the
middle of your flower, wrap the thread around and around the circle
(in a kind of pie slice shape)
making as many "petals" as you want. Finish it off with felt or a
big button for the flower's center.
I had the perfect place for them. Above the daybed in my craft room.
I even made a kind of collage with a leftover wallflower and an
old canvas I had stashed away.
