Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Paper Star Garlands

If you want an easy last minute kind of project, this one's for you!

It's a fun little paper star garland that I first saw on the
Mrs. Polly Rogers blog.  Hers are two dimensional, but
I decided I liked them just as well flat.

I used a few in a garland above a cabinet in the living room.

And a few vertical ones decorating an old birdcage.

I spent a night, (while watching Duck Dynasty on TV), tracing around
a star shaped cookie cutter on old book pages.  And them cutting them out.

Then I took them to my sewing machine and sewed them together.
They worked best when I sewed them star point to star point.

Then I decided that I should make a few using colorful scrapbook paper.

I hung them above my kitchen sink.

I've gotten more compliments on this little project.

Fast, easy, inexpensive.

Perfect for this time of year!

The stars look fun and festive. I like a project that doesn't have too many steps-that way I can finish it!

Gotta love that uncle Sy. What a character.

Maybe I'll get a chance to make some star garland this week.
Thanks for sharing.

Your star garland looks so pretty in the window! That is an easy project. I've watched a few episodes of Duck Dynasty but it never really caught my attention.
