I've been lugging around this box of broken dishes for at least 10 years.
Whenever anyone would break a dish, I'd say no worries and put
the pieces in my broken dish box.
Totally Mom of the Year!
So the other day I got out my box, hammer, and tile cutter thing.
And made little pieces out of the big pieces.
Arranged them on a piece of siding that the Mister cut to just the right size.
Glued the pieces on with thin set, according to the package instructions, grouted the whole thng,
then attached it to this cabinet that was missing it's top.
I found the cabinet by the side of the road on someone's pile during the spring clean up.
And now it makes it's home out on our patio.
And now I don't feel quite as bad about those broken dishes

Cheery, happy, fun! You've made a work of art out of something that other folks might throw away. I love it!

Once again, you put the rest of us to shame. AWESOME project. You rock.
OH this is pure FUN! You did a beautiful job with this!!
I love it. That reminds me that someone gave me some tiles that they didn't use. They are a rooster mural. I have thought about using them to make a tray by putting them into a frame. My brother just re-grouted his kitchen counter. I'll have to see if he has any left-over grout? I love the bright colors in your mosaic!

Love the colors of your mosaic and love your attitude- don't cry over spilled milk, clean it up and use it in a different way.
