In our beautiful state of Utah, the 24th of July is set apart as a day
to celebrate our Pioneer heritage.
There are parades and barbecues and fireworks.
Sounds just like another July celebration, doesn't it?
Almost everyone in Utah has the day off!
Another reason to celebrate!
A few years back we drove through Wyoming, our state neighbor to the north and east.
They also honor the brave men and women
who left all that they knew and set out for the wilderness in search of religious freedom and a better life.
Whether your family came across the plains in a covered wagon or flew over our nation in a 747,
it's a great day to stop and think about where we came from and the sacrifices that our ancestors made to make
this country what it is today.
Happy Pioneer Day!

What a fun day to celebrate for your state.
California should have a gold rush day or maybe a salute to Hollywood day and we could dress up as our favorite movie characters.
Being a middle school teacher, I got to plan "crazy days" and had so much fun dressing up in 50s poodle skirts or bell bottoms for Hippie Day.
Our ancestors made a lot of sacrifices for life here in the west. We have a great deal to be thankful for and why not celebrate to show that gratitude! Have a fun day!
Happy Pioneer Day!
It looks like a beautiful day there. Happy Celebration!
