Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. A Sweetpea Visit

As you know, the mister and I went to California for a short visit. We were lucky enough to bring the sweetpeas home with us for a whole week. Their mommy and daddy came too, along with our granddog, Lucy. It was an adventure! Here are the California girls, our youngest grandson, and the tall guy in the back will be our newest grandson in June when his daddy marries our youngest daughter. The short white one in the front is no relation. When you don't actually live in the snow it's a ton of fun. Making snowmen...er, snowgirls...
Running around in the falling snow...getting soaking, freezing, wet. So fun!

We watched some movies. Snow White, An American Tale, a few others on our old VCR. The kids were so interested in this antique device. I'm not throwing that thing away. I have a million kid movies from when my kids were little. They didn't seem to mind that it wasn't in HD or 3D or whatever D is the newest thing.

We went bowling, ate homemade ice cream, shopped, ate at McDonalds, played with the cousins, colored and searched for Easter eggs. They left early on Sunday morning and Mimi's Cottage is so quiet. Sure do miss you guys!

The grands do seem to stir up life huh. But it's fun to pick up small forgotten items after they have gone home. Shoes, a pez, little trucks etc. Makes me smile and look forward to the next visit! :-D
I love to read books and hold little hands and kiss little faces!
We did not get any more snow past Easter morning here. Just W.I.N.D....and more W.I.N.D!
I'm bettting that beautiful tree would not grown here. You should plant one if you can.

I loved the snowgirl!
Enjoy your day.

See? This is why it's OK to have my "lining" be a mess and need to be removed...because eventually I will have sweetpeas visiting and can keep buying beautiful smocked silk dresses for the next generation. All is well. :)

What a sweet Easter you had! I know those little ones had an unforgettable time.
I had to laugh at the line about the vcr, I still think of them as a new invention. I remember how excited I was when my hubby and I got our first one, it meant we didn't have to stay up late on Sat night to watch Saturday Night Live. Gosh, guess I'm an antique now, too!

You sure have some good looking grandkids. I miss mine so much, need another trip to Vegas to see them. It sounds like you all had a great time.
Our snow has finally melted in southern Utah, but another storm is supposed to be on the way.

Aw, they are so adorable! I've got to meet them sometime. I can't wait till I have some. Do you remember how mom used to leave the little fingerprints on her mirror tiles, just to admire when they werent there?
