Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Hydroseeding

We've spent the last couple of weeks weeding, leveling, weeding, raking, weeding,
smoothing, weeding, leveling some more and getting ready for the hydroseed man.

We have such a huge lawn area that we didn't really want to spend the money
on sod and planting grass seed on such a big area seemed like a lot of work.

He showed up on Tuesday.

We want to spend a couple of days out here.
You know, resting and relaxing.

We'll see how long that lasts.

We've still got a long list of things to do for our Summer 2012 Project.

But another thing can be checked off the list.

Thank you Mr Hydroseed Man!

You do have a big yard! We hydro seeded our yard 15 years ago. It grew so fast and came in beautifully! Isn't it nice to check something off the list?

My daughter is building a new home and probably will go that same route. Keep us informed how it grows! Good luck.

Thanks for showing me how this works. I've been wanting to do some hydro-seeding of my own but never really knew how to do it. This really broke down things for me step by step and showed me what to do. http://www.evergreenpowerseeding.com.au/about.html

It takes a lot of work to get your property ready for hydro-seeding. I am just happy that you kept on top of it and kept weeding. I know that it is hard for me to weed the same area every day for a week.

So this is hydroseeding. I kind of knew what it was, but I was not for sure. This is really cool and I know that it is helpful too. I just know that it is quiet the process before you can even do any sort of hydroseeding.

This is an awesome example of how a hydroseeder works. I have been thinking about doing this myself. Thanks for all the information!

We used sod, hydroseed, and two types of grass seed at various points in our yard, and I have to say the hydroseed has held up the best. No weeds or other types of grass mixed in, and a very bright look. Best of luck with your yard!

I think that hydro seeding is far more natural than to have sod installed. However sod looks better faster. Personally I think that waiting for your natural grass to grow, via hydro seed is the best option.

I never really thought about how helpful hydroseeding really was. One of my best friends did this at his home and it made the grass grow really well. They use to have no grass at all in their lawn, but now they have a nice, luscious, and green. It looks really good and it is all thanks to hydroseeding.
