Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Craft Night!

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments on our grandbaby news!  You guys are
just the best!  I highly recommend grandparenthood.   It's so much fun without all the
work.  And stress.  And expectations.  And expense.  Well, there's some expense but mostly
for fun things.  At least that's been our experience.  So thank you again.

In our church we have a women's organization called Relief Society.  We meet on Sundays for a spiritual  lesson and then about one night a month for activities.  We've had speakers talk to us about breast
cancer awareness, disaster preparedness, communicating with your spouse, children's literature,
all kinds of interesting things.  Sometimes we have cooking demonstrations or we tie
quilts for humanitarian projects.  My favorite activities are the craft nights.  We're having one in February, just
in time for Valentines Day.

This is the class that I'll be teaching.  Simple, inexpensive, kind of cute, mod podged frames.

The frames are $1.00 at Michaels.

 The scrapbook paper is cheap.

We'll be doing a couple of other projects too.  It's such a great way for women to get together and socialize, get to know each other a little better, and end up with a cute little frame to help make their house a home.

DARLING! Especially the um...what was that? Red polka dot, or something? Yeah. That one. Can I come? Can you tell them I'm inactive? Or a non member? Or just needy? Please?

Congratulations on the new Grandbaby, that is so exciting. Is it the daughter that came and looked at our house, I remember she was expecting but I can't remember how far along she was. Were they able to find a place that worked for them? I love the frame, they are adorable. I definitely would like to make one. What night did you say this was? Thanks

This is a really cute idea for a project that can be done on any craft level. Our women's group has been looking for a project for the Spring...this might just fill the bill...I'm sure I could even spare some scrapbook paper myself....hahahaha! (for 10 congregations!!) Our ages vary so the frames could be for babies or grandbabies! Thanks Sue!
