"One kind word can warm three winter months." Japanese Proverb
Mimi Sue's Cottage
A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Like so many of you I sort of have an addiction to dishes. OK I totally have an addiction to dishes and in the fall some of my favorites come out of storage. I showed you these plates last year and probably the year before. We use them for Thanksgiving dinner. I bought a few at a thrift store and then added to the set through ebay. They're Franciscan Indian Summer.

Here are a couple of wool felt applique ornaments that I'm donating to the boutique this year.

We are so very sad to say our sweet little Rudy had to be put to sleep yesterday.
He had been sick for a while and after a few trips to the vet we decided that his
suffering had to end. Such a hard decision to make. We've shed a thousand tears.
He was always such a gentleman. He loved to cuddle and when it was cold he wanted
to sleep in our bed and we usually let him. He was a rescue. We found him
wandering the streets with no collar, so of course we had to take him home. We
tried to find his owners but to no avail.
He loved to go on walks but didn't like rides in the car. He followed
me all around the house. He was afraid of men but eventually trusted the mister.
They would sit on the recliner and watch football on TV together
(such a macho little guy). He loved to lie in the sun and hated the cold.
We were privileged to have him in our family for eleven years.
He was just the best and we miss him so much.
