Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Betsy and Rudy Doing Their Part

Kellee, from the Katillac Shack, did a post last week that really made me stop and think. Because of the economy there are many families that can't keep their pets due to having to move or just not being able to feed and care for them. So she decided to help out. Kellee will send you a scarf to embellish and then you take a picture and email it to her. She has a donor that will give $10.00 per decorated scarf to help with our little furry friends. Go on over to her blog where she explains it way better than I did.

So this came in the mail on Saturday... I really should've asked for two since I have two dogs. Duh! They get jealous if I do for one and not the other, so I decided to cut the scarf in half. Our little Betsy, yes I know she needs to go to the orthodontist. Not to mention the groomer. Big rick rack and a pearl heart. I think she likes it.

Rudy wanted something a little more masuline. He was going for the Zorro look.
It's really more like a poncho on him. He only weighs 6 lbs.

He does like to dress up. He's looking at me like he thinks I've lost my mind. Both of our little doggies were rescues. They are such a big part of our family and we love them so much. So we hope that the money that is being raised will help care for pets that need a little help. Now run on over to Kelee's blog, get a scarf and do your part!

Great idea. I love your little dogs, all dressed up in their scarves.
Our doberman is a rescue too. Best dog we've ever had. Someone had put a lot of time into training him and we wonder how he ended up at the shelter.

Okay, melt my heart into a little puddle. Your puppies are WAY too cute! Our old Chester was a rescue to. He was our faithful friend for over 12 years. I love this woman's idea. Thanks for getting the word out. : )

Your dogs are so cute.
I'm catching up--I can't wait to see the finished shed and fence and your grass looks nice and green. I wish my husband or I knew how to build little buildings--I'd build a playhouse for the kids. And a gardening shed.
