Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Easy Holiday Flag

I'm still working on the shelf. It's all ready to hang, but it's so heavy and I need to move some furniture. The mister's been out working on the shed so maybe tomorrow. I just wanted to show you this really easy project I finished over the weekend. I had one of those little flag hangers that you stick in the ground and hang cute little flags from. I wanted something 4th of Julyish so I got out my fabric stash and found this fabric. I cut a triangular shape with my pinking rotary cutter blade, then added some interfacing so that it had a little stiffness. Stitched a seam across the top to hang it from and added some ric rac, er, rick rack.
Hung it on the wire flag holder and stuck it in the ground. VERY simple and fun to make.

You could make one for other holidays or a baby or bridal shower. How about a birthday flag? My kind of project. Fast and easy.

That's stuper cute. I keep making my husband and kids walk past your house so I can see everything in person. I spent a week working on one of those pennant garlands for my front windows, hung it, and it doesn't look right--the binding was too short and it's not quite long enough. I hung it anyway, and I think I'll tweak it later when I work up my nerve again. Maybe I better post it on my blog and get people's opnions on what to do--so I can reject them. ;) I get weird suggestions sometimes.
