Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Progress

We've been making progress on Mimi's Cottage this week. The fence guys came over and put up some fence posts...
The grass is long enough to mow...

The mister and our son got started on the shed...

I've been gathering up little bits and pieces for it for awhile. An old window...

A french door... We got it for free but it's too big so the mister took out the glass part and is remaking it.

I also have a weathervane and a cupola. Yippee! We're making progress.

What a project!
We're fencing up here too, but against the deer who are voracious eaters of everything I plant.
I enjoyed visiting your porch early this week - so glad I stopped by for a longer visit. Your cruise sounds like fun - and a great deal!

Wow, you've been busy. We need to get together. Do you need to go to Ikea. I'm thinking about it next week. What would be a good day for you. Janis

You have been busy. I just love the look of your yard with the fence all the way around - sigh! It's just so picture perfect.

Everything looks great. We need to get a shed. We have too much in our garage and I would like to have a shed just for my gardening stuff.

Don't you love it when there is a project going on and workers show up? It looks like you have a pretty big back yard.
I love your white picket fence.
Glad the new grass is growing and now needs mowing.

I love handy men, and if they love what they do, that's even better.

Thank you for letting me visit.

Things are coming along great over at Mimi Sue's Cottage! Don't you just love it when your husband is a handy guy and can do things like that instead of paying through your nose to have someone else do it? My husband is like that too and I love it!
Hope everything is going along good for you!

Hi Mimi-Sue...I've been SO MIA lately. I'm glad last week is over. But thank you for being one of my cheerleaders! Did your banner arrive safe and sound? Feel free to tweak it in any way if it doesn't quite work in the intended room, etc. I was telling Joyce and Marie how I didn't realize how nervous it would make me to wonder if my customers were pleased with their purchase once it arrived. Anyway, let me know if it arrived in one piece. That's another worry, packing and shipping correctly...but for the most part I've really loved the experience so far.
I loved your comment..."the only problem with Etsy, is that you have to keep feeding it just like a pet." But I wasn't sure if you meant the shop owner or customer. Hee-hee. Your place is sure shaping up. I just love all your posts about the progress as it moves along.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for everything!

Your yard looks wonderful. I love the edging that you used on your flower beds. I really want edging, it such a pain to keep our flower beds looking good! Sounds like you have one handy guy for a hubby, how nice. Your porch looks incredible as always!
