Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Window Framed Flag

I'm still working on that shelf to hang my new cute banner. We've got the shed building going on so I have a hard time getting my laundry done let alone visit blogs or work on cute things. I did want to show you what we made a while back but just got hung this morning. We have a glass/window shop in our little town (Sander's Glass) that sells old windows. They put in the new, fancy, good for the environment windows and take out the old cute ones. They sell the windows for $10.00 each. No matter what size. Love it. So I bought a window about flag size and wrapped it around a piece of beadboard. Then I held it in place with little finishing nails. This tool is from Harbor Freight (years ago). It pushes the nails into the wood. I don't know what it's called but it sure works great.

And there you have it.

Hanging on my porch.

I didn't know Sander's Glass sold old windows--thanks for the info!

Your flag is cute--what happened to the one that was on your old house that Jensons left? I always loved that one.

There is a flag in this post that I would love to frame...a mini quilt flag. THANKS SO MUCH for the excellent idea. I didn't just want to put it out there in the weather but it's perfect for my red, white and blue porch! I love your little goat cart with the flowers in it, too!
XOXO

Looks GREAT Sue! I was there a few weeks ago looking for an old door with windows, but had no luck - maybe they only do windows!

I sure love your front porch! I am partial to yellow myself cuz our little farmhouse is yellow, too! What good taste we have!

I really think your framed flag is great - what a neat idea to keep it flying and still keep it neat and clean! I may have to find me an old window frame!

I'd love to see some more photos of your house. I'll have to do some reading backwards!
