Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Christmas at Mimi's Cottage

It's been a busy month at Mimi's Cottage. Busy in a good, deck the halls, get together with friends, shopping, wrapping, baking, cleaning kind of way. This is what the house looked like at the beginning of the month.See all the lists? Mimi's at the age where she needs lots of lists. Then Mimi had a little get together at her house so she had to get it together.

It's been cold and dark and cloudy this month. I'm blaming the blurry pictures on the weather. It couldn't be the photographer.

I love the Shiny Brite boxes as much as the ornaments.
I found these old tape dispensers at a yard sale a couple of summers ago. Remember them? Made of metal. I adore them.

Our tree is decorated with things our kids made when they were young. When we go on vacation we buy ornaments for souvenirs instead of T shirts. I love to unpack them and remember the fun time we had.

I try to get almost everything done by the 20th of December. Then I can relax, enjoy, be still, and remember what Christmas is all about.
Hope you're able to do that too.

I love seeing all your Christmas decor. You set everything up so nice.
My house was a disaster too, every room had a mess in it, but it all came together finally.
I have lists too....I still forget things even with the list.
Merry Christmas.

Love your ornament idea. I would rather have that then a t-shirt anyday. Looks like you have been busy girl!

You have certainly decked your halls Mimi...and the piles are gone now?
sometimes I just have to pretend someone is coming over and thats enought motivation for me.
Looks like it will be nice at your cottage for celebrating the season to be jolly.
Enjoy friends and family!

Beautiful photos of your Christmas decor. There's nothing like a get-together to make us get-it-together, is there? Have a glorious Christmas! I love the twirly skirts on the girls!

Wait--we ARE supposed to get it together by Christmas? I think I need an assistant over here. I did finally put the Christmas Rubbermaids away last Friday--after they took up residence in front of the piano for a week. ;) Your house is darling.

Oooooo, I DO love a good house tour. This was one of the lovliest, happiest ones. I'm so glad you took the time to take the pics and share them with us.
Hey, do you know if your camera has a Macro setting? The icon for it is usually a tulip. If you do, anytime you want to take a close-up, use Macro and it focuses beautifully. But then you have to remember to turn it off if it's not a close up. Just a little something my young people over here taught me. : )
Merry Christmas, Mimi Sue!
