Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. A Project Completed

Only 437 projects to go!

Last summer as the mister and I were driving around town, we came across a bunch of oak kitchen cabinets by the side of the road. I yelled STOP!! and the mister did. We took a closer look and they were for sale, $2.00 per cabinet. So of course we bought a couple. They sat in the garage for a loooong time until a couple of weeks ago when I gave them a fresh coat of black paint.

Some contact paper on the shelves from the dollar store.

And some new knobs (half price) from the wonderful Hobby Lobby.

And now they're hanging over the potty in our master bath. Where they'll live happily ever after.

These look so great! Isn't it amazing what a coat of paint will do? I bet the people who got rid of them would be sorry if they saw them now:>)

What a Makeover! Those cabinets aren't even recognizabe anymore. Love your polka dot knobs and you can never go wrong with black. I would say that was a successful project!
