Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Trashy Pumpkin Novels

My darling friend Janis made me these adorable pumpkins.  They're made from old romance novels that she cut on her band saw, tea stained the edges, stuck a stick and leaves in the appropriate spot, then glued the covers together to make a pumpkin shape.
You need to go to her blog and see the ones she made, then go to Craftberry Bush blog where Janis got the inspiration.  Don't you love all the creative ideas out there in blog land?

I had no idea where this post was going when I read the title, but I was drawn in by the words "trashy" and "novel"! These are so great, and I'm going to check out how they're made right now!

No FAIR! I did this same thing with a book a few months ago, but cut it into a vase shape for my daughter. NOW you tell me I could've used a SAW? YIKES! That would have been SO much easier! LOL

What a cute idea, and I enjoyed visiting her blog too. I loved those built-in bunkbeds. I also thought your photos of your grandkids in the previous posts were adorable :-)
