Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Car Seat Cover

When my babies were little there were no laws that said we had to keep
our little ones in car seats.  My kids wandered around the car without even
a seatbelt for protection.  One summer we drove 1800 miles in our big brown
station wagon with the back seat folded down so they had a nice place
to play.  I'm cringing just thinking about it!

Anyway, today's babies have as much protection as NASCAR drivers.   Thank goodness!

Last week I decided to make a car seat cover for our sweet little
Margaret Ann.

Moda fabric...

Covered buttons...

Pretty easy to make.  I found the pattern HERE.

She's a little milk drunk but she's sure cute.

The mister says he needs one that'll fit his recliner...

Hmmmm.

Oh I know what you mean. WHY did it take us all so long to figure out our babies were not safe without car seats? I remember even watching films about how children become flying objects in a crash...yet, it was still years later before we all were required to have car seats!

That car seat cover you made will be cherished I'm sure.

I can't wait to see the recliner cover! You did a beautiful job on the car seat cover. And that baby...how adorable!

We would drive through the night from Arizona to Utah with the kids in the back of the Toyota sleeping. Things have changed.

Love It!
BTW~ when I was little, we had a Volkswagon Beetle Bug. We drove to San Antonio, Texas (from Indianapolis, Indiana) with my sister getting the back seat & my seat was the "hole". That little area behind the back seat (I dont think they even have it now). With the engine in the back of VWs, I remember my seat getting to warm. How horrible unsafe too! lol. But it was the 70's no seat belts in that car!
