Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Inexpensive Table Decorations

A few weeks ago we had our annual soup and salad dinner at our church.

I volunteered to make the twelve table centerpieces.

They said great!  But don't spend much money!

So here's what I came up with.

First I found some scrapbook paper bird ideas on the internet.

Then I modified these birds to kind of make them my own.

Instead of paperclip legs I used some craft wire.

I used leftover scrapbook paper from other projects.

I recycled these containers from last year's dinner with a little bronze spray paint that I had in my stash.

I bought twelve blocks of floral foam from the Dollar Store for the bases.

Then I found this idea on the internet for the big green flowers.

Everyone thought they looked like the Truffala trees from The Lorax.

They're made from one package of $1.99 napkins from IKEA.

The shred at the birdies feet was from my gift wrapping stash.

Total cost for twelve large centerpieces?

$14.00
