Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Pioneer Day

Today is a state holiday here in our beautiful Utah.

July 24, 1847 was the day the first pioneers drove their covered wagons down
into the Salt Lake Valley.

So we celebrate by marching in parades, eating too much at barbecues and picnics,
shoo the mosquitoes away at large and small firework displays,  and
getting together with family and friends.

Kind of sounds like the 4th of July doesn't it?
