Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Forsythia

Last week I picked some bare branches from our Forsythia bush.

I brought them in the warm house.

I stuck them in a vase of water.

And look what happened.

A little bit of spring on this cold and rainy day.

How cool that it bloomed when you brought the branches inside. Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit.

Forsythia just means it's spring to me...they are always the first blooms here. I'd really love to grow it!

Great minds think alike! I clipped some too and mine are just starting to bud. I also did a post!

Beautiful! I just saw that Penny at the Comforts of Home had done this and remembered that the neighbors have a forsythia bus that they are always generous enough to let me clip. I need to get over there and snitch a few branches!

I have always loved those bushes and have one in my yard. It is not blooming yet with all this snow. Maybe next week.
