A few weeks ago I saw this great idea on
Kerin bought some sweet potatoes at the grocery store and put them in a jar with water. They're supposed to grow roots and leaves and then she'll plant them in pots for her porch.
I always put sweet potato vine in my three window boxes so I
thought I'd give it a try.
Here they are in jars with water and in a sunny window.
Right now I have little white roots sprouting from the potatoes.
They've been in jars for about a month and no green leaves yet.
I'll let you know how they do.

Darn it! I just ate my sweet potatoes last night! Lol, guess I'll have to get more. I think you can just cut the end off and still sprout them. That way I could have my sweet potato and eat it too ;>)

I grew up in Utah, Davis county, but worked at Bowmans grocery in Farmington at their deli in the summer. Your blog brings back many fond memories. Here is something interesting about sweet potatoes that I saw awhile back. Thought you might find this interning.
