Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Memorial Day Treat

Are you going somewhere fun for Memorial Day?

Do you need to take a treat?

Here is a yummy recipe I got from my good friend Janis.

Something different and fun and just a little bit addicting.

3 bags of butter flavored microwave popcorn, popped

melt 1 cup butter in pan
add 1/2 cup karo light syrup

stir and cook until candy thermometer reaches 215 degrees

pour syrup over popcorn, stir

Separately melt 1 bag white dipping chocolate buttons
drizzle over popcorn

melt 1 bag milk chocolate buttons
drizzle  over popcorn mixture

Let it sit on your counter until it hardens up.
At least an hour or so.

Enjoy!

I get my chocolate buttons at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

We're looking forward to this weekend and the official start of Summer 2014!

Yum! I've done this without the Karo syrup and butter too, just melted white chocolate and tossed it with the popcorn, I usually add crushed candy canes too, but you could add mini m&m's, nuts or crushed toffee bits. I love the salty sweet mix of popcorn and chocolate! Have a great weekend Sue!
