Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. 60 Something

This is my new best friend. His name is Rob and he has come to help us with the drywall in the basement. In fact, he's finishing all the drywall in the basement. WOOHOO!! I told you a few posts ago that the Mister injured himself by hanging all that drywall on the ceiling. Turns out, after Xrays and an MRI, that he has bone spurs on his vertebrae and they've been irritating the nerves in his neck. (I thought I was the only pain in his neck but whatever!)
So the Mister's been sleeping in his recliner and taking large amounts of Ibuprofen and pain killers. (He's verrry mellow right now)

The problem is even though he's 60 something, he thinks he can still do things like he's 30 something. Looks like things are going to change around here a little.

I wish you could convince mine that he is 60 something. Even his friends are thinking he is crazy now. He's taking all the boys skiing on Saturday night so we will see how he fairs. He got hearing aids and boy is that nice.
Your basement looks great. I'll call you when he leaves.

Hi Mimi Sue - I miss you girl - we just gotta meet. Aunt Elsie's is getting moved over to Gardner Village now. We're hoping to open on March 1.

I'm so sorry for your hubbies back and shoulders. It's tuff to get old.

I so excited for you though about you new man putting up the dry wall. Have you got all the rest of the design plan figured out?

Hugs

I love yo have professional men around the house. My husband is 63 and finaly consented to having someone come in and do some work in the house. He kept saying "I'll do it" but that wasn't happening...I think it's worth the money to have it done quickly and correctly. Thank God for recliners. Sometimes I think you can sleep better in one of those than flat out in a bed!

Your mister sounds like my Dad. He recently fell off a ladder! He didn't break anything, but he is having shoulder pain!
Blessings,

Oh we hear ya at our house on this subject...my Bed of Roses has always been "the king" of doing things. No more.He even went ice fishing last week and he came home and said no more he just cant do it...the nerves in the neck too. I too thought it was me...arent xrays wonderful it takes that pressure off of us...being their pains.
when he had his back/spine xrayed 4years ago I said to the dr...oh, he has a spine? ohhhh that was so naughty wasnt it. Sorry to say I had uttered those words a few times over the 37 years...sought forgiveness with the evidence of xrays.
good luck with your room. I am still waiting for the glazer to finish up my sunroom...wait, wait and then we wait some more.
Ouch, that sounds painful.

Tell Hubbie to take care of that neck...he's lucky that he didn't rupture a disc...Oh that isn't any fun....You think childbirth is bad...think of labor that can last for months when the doctors mis-diagnose you....Not fun.

I think they're all this way. My husband threw his back out this past weekend, but still tries to do to much. He's 52, so I guess that means he thinks he's 20 :-)
Blessings,
