Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. A Flock of Valentine Birdies

When I saw these adorable birds on Elizabeth's Creative Breathing Blog I fell in love. She is one talented cookie and makes all kinds of cute things. I had to try and make a bird or two or six!
She has all the directions on her post, but basically you paint styrofoam shapes, glue them together, make wings and a tail with accordian folded crepe paper streamers, use little black brads for eyes, card stock for beaks, and decorate them with whatever your heart desires.

This was such a fun craft and I think they turned out pretty cute.

And speaking of birdies, when the mister and I were out walking the other day we saw two pairs of robins splashing in a puddle! You know what that means, SPRING is just around the corner!

Bravo Mimi! These are the cutest birds! I love the one picture where it looks like the red birdie is whispering into the ear of the pink birdie...sweet nothings? I love the way you've embellished with pearls and flowers. E will be so excited to see these...you've done her proud. For the first time, we've been seeing robins off and on all winter this year. I just read that not all of them migrate. Crazy robins!

Wahoo for spring!
Love your little "love birds". I'm partial to the red one with the string of pearls around her neck! :-)
We have robins all winter long. Small and few in between though. BUT, we don't have anything that even resembles a Puddle! Too darn cold!
Only 6 mores weeks...right? lets see, that's one month and two weeks, and it's almost one month and one week really. And then it will be just one month and then, just 3 short weeks........ Yeahhhhhh, I can almost smell it!!!!
Enjoy your Day.
