Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Brittle

Have you ever made peanut brittle?  It's pretty easy and sooo yummy.

It does have a few calories.

But it's totally worth it.

Bag it up in a nice little cellophane bag, tie a cute ribbon around it, and you've got a great gift
for a neighbor or friend.

Nut Brittle

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp light corn syrup
2 cups peanuts (or any nuts will do)

Melt butter in a large, heavy pan over high heat.  Add the rest of the
ingredients and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to medium and stir constantly
until the temperature reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Quickly pour candy on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet (with sides).

Let cool then break apart.

Mmm my mom loved brittle. Makes for great gifts. I loved your Halloween decor. You have the best porch for decorating. Have a wonderful weekend. Off to a craft show.

Mmmmm.......Thanks for the recipe!

BTW - I got to visit with Michelle Capener yesterday and she told me that she had gone to your house with Kay to deliver the crocheted necklace she had made you. She mentioned some really cute solar lights that you had put together and I'd love to see a picture!
