Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Happy Flag Day from Our Front Porch

The warm weather is finally here.

Which means it's sittin on the porch time.

I love it when a neighbor or friend stops by and wants to sit and chat for awhile.  It seems to be so much more relaxing on the front porch.

I usually decorate for summer just before Memorial Day.

That way the porch is ready for Flag Day and Independence Day.

Looks lovely Sue! Did you paint the rake red? Sure do like it that way - I've got a couple of them myself. Love all the Americana touches and sure wish I had a front porch instead of a cement stoop!

Hi Mimi. Your porch looks so pretty. I love the yellow with red together, than adding the blue just makes it so right for the patriotic holidays ahead. Looks like you have a big sunflower coming up. That will be a perfect accompaniment to the red, white and blue..Happy Flag Day to you..Judy
