Just beyond the front door and to the left of the entry is our living room. It's small, only about 12x11. Our furniture barely fits. Let's just say it's cozy. In our last house the living room was 16x20. We had lots of room, it took a lot of time to dust and vacuum. It had four windows to wash and a sliding glass door. It took lots of energy to heat and cool. We hardly ever used it. When we decided to build we liked the idea of a separate room away from the TV and people traffic. I like to go in there to read or sit and think. When someone stops by and the rest of the house is a mess, this room is usually clean.
See the heart shaped plate? Did we have an earthquake? "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful." says the Nester.
The picture of the baby in the antique frame is my mother about 1921. The crocheted edging in that rectangular frame my great grandmother made. That toile chair I found out by someone's trash can. I had it reupholstered and now it's one of my favorite things. The little heart shaped picture below is of the Mister about 1950. Wow, looking at these pictures, I have a lot of heart shapes.

Your new home is lovely, and you blog is too. I was visiting Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses and she mentioned your blog. I am so glad to meet you, I browsed your posts and what a great way to begin a blog with a brand new home. Karen
Rhondi sent me over and I'm glad she did. I loved browsing through your blog. We have a lot in common, a love of antiques, flowers, etc. You have a lovely home.
I especially like your saying about happiness from last week. I think I'll write it down and look at it now and then.
Mimi Sue,
Rhondi sent me over and I'm glad I visited--love your new home and the black and white mistreatment. I will visit often and maybe have a cup of tea.
Sue

Hi Mimi Sue,
Rhondi sent me over, and I'm glad I came. You have a very lovely blog and a lovely home.
I've got some catching up to do since I've been away from my computer for a week, but I'll be back to visit again soon!
So nice to meet you!

This is my first visit; I love your decorating style. I read from this post backwards toward the beginning. From the photos, I thought you lived in an older home, you've really captured the cottage feel. I was really surprised when I came to the photo of a NEW home! I'll be back to "visit" more often, now that I've found your cottage!
Not sick of you yet. :) I got the LDS button off of LeeLou Blogs. I think I have a link on my blog, if not then Nicole for sure does.
I hear you on the projects making the head spin--ou problem, too, is we have more ideas than we have resources to back them. I'm going to check out that website.
I just love your new home,we built ours 10 years ago,and I am still working own getting things right.lol
I am new at blogging but I just love love it!!!!
Welcome! I hope we can get to know one another.
It seems that we just might have a lot in common
