Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. To Faux or Not To Faux

I thought to myself I really wouldn't be joining in on the fun P.O.O.P.I.E. party over at the Nester's since I really didn't have anything faux in my home. Then I started walking around my house and in every single room I found at least one thing that would qualify. So here goes.
Flowers...
Heart shaped wreaths with little fake berry things...Fruit...More fruit...
So faux or no?

I love those pink fauxs and what a great cake pedestal with the faux cherries underneath. Deana

Are those strawberries fake? They sure look real to me! I have fake stuff too and I like it. You keep yours simple and tasteful, like I do too hopefully! I use hot glue when recovering lampshades. I have some spray adhesive, but don't like the mess it makes so I very rarely use it on projects. Ofcourse, using a hot glue gun makes a mess too with all those strings of dried glue everywhere! I use self-adhesive shades a lot and also old shades I get at garage sales. I'll try to get a tutorial together and do it Friday. Thanks for the idea!

Those strawberries do look real! Your faux flowers look natural and not overdone - very pretty!

I am pro faux! :)

The Nester does say there are exceptions to the rule. I think you've mastered the faux flowers and fruit.

Last time I was there, I did mistake those strawberries for real ones.

Even though it's faux, it's very pretty!

Totally thought the strawberries were real--you had better keep em!

PS, I need you to go back and relink to this post--I'm deleting the first link because it just went strait to the main page and in a few days no one will be able to find this post!

Thank you!

I love your fakes! Those white roses are very pretty! And the fruit is great. Those strawberies look so real! I love that little scalloped cake stand behind the strawberries too!

And I have to say, I loved your comment about eating at the kitchen sink yesterday. I think we must have the same diet plan!

I'm a faux kinda gal. It's one less thing in my life that I have to give a lot of attention to. That way I can pay attention to other things...like blogging!

I was just looking at some Faux fruit today, but I nixed the idea, from so many people saying they have teeth marks in their fruits! Do your Strawberries have teethmarks?

Welcome to the Poopies!
