Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Voila

Well, it's done. Now the cutest little tushies on the planet have a cute chair to sit in. I put stripper on the seat and arm rests because they were so gunked up. Then the mister had to glue the seat part together because of a big crack in it. Then sand, sand, sand. Then one can colonial red rustoleum and voila. Do you think it needs a little toile cushion? Do I have too much toile? Can anyone have too much toile?

Toile it! Toile it! It's so darling and will look so even more darling with toile cusioning. I have some chairs I have to recover, Kimba-style, but I need to find a wipeable fabric. Look luck to me, the incompetent fabric shopper, right? ;)

Is it possible to be in love with a chair? Yours is just too cute!! Yes, go for the toile! No you can never have too much ... are you sitting down? I don't have any ... YET!! :o) I really do like the red cushions that you made in the past. Will you use that fabric? I am finishing a long valance (red gingham) for my living room and want to post it later today. :o)
Have a super day!

What a sweet little chair. Depending on the ages of the kids who will be sitting on the chair you may not want to add a cushion but a wide ruffle of toile tacked up underneath the seat.

You are awesome. I had thought of oil cloth and was looking online at some, hoping there would be any at Hancock's or Joann's, too (I called, there's not)--so this so very helpful. Thanks!!

Okay, Mimi Sue...I measured how tall my kitchen ceiling was just for you. : ) 9ft. 2in. Now I'm dying of curiosity to know how tall yours are and if mine are out of the ordinary & if it is one more thing I should add to my gratitude list. : ) Anyway, I'll wait to here from you.
