Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Quilt Class

On Saturday I took my first beginning quilt class. The class is held in the cutest old house in the cutest old neighborhood. They have wonderful fabric, yarn, and patterns of all kinds. Our class is learning how to make a 16 patch quilt block and I'm going to make a throw size quilt.I've kind of played around with quilting in the past but I thought it would be good if I took a class and learned some handy tricks. So far so good. This is my first block. I'm supposed to take that fabric and make a bunch more before Saturday. Must find time soon. It would really be embarrassing if I failed my quilt class.

Ooh, that store is so darling! I didn't even know it existed.

So, will you teach us all how to quilt now? I can't wait to see your finished product.

That is so awesome Sue Sue. I'm doing a beginner quilt too. Maybe we could compare notes sometime. I'll have to show you my quilt squares. They aren't the greatest but I hope to be good at it some day. How fun!

I love your first square. I am attempting my very first quilt. I have run into some hurdles, brick walls is more like it, but am hoping to see it through to the end.

That store looks like so much fun. It makes me feel all warm and crafty...

I met my best friend in quilt class. That was about 35 years ago and we are still very close no matter how many miles apart we are. You never know what might get 'pieced' into your life. Enjoy!

Your quilting is off to a good start! I would love to learn to quilt! So far I have done just a few little things and mainly rag quilting. The type of quilt you are making is just what I am wanting to learn!
Have a great day!!
