Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Good Times

The last of our company left yesterday. We had a lot of fun and we're so glad they could come. While they were here we laughed and talked, we went to the movies, we watched dvd's, and we played lots of games...
We did touristy things like visiting Antelope Island. It's an island in the Great Salt Lake.

Looking back at the "mainland". The beautiful Wasatch Mountains. One of the residents...
We did A LOT of eating...at home...

And out...

We miss you guys, come back soon. We loved every minute.

How fun! It seems like a great vacation for you too...& to recover from:) Laughter is so good for the body and soul!
The type of vacation where it is a pleasure to clean up all the 'sunshine' left behind and savor the memories made.

You must be exhausted from your "mad whirl"! LOL! :-) What a good time you all must have had! Did you eat at any new places while you were being "tourists"?

Can you believe I have never been to Antelope Island? It's time to go and take LBC! I have never been swimming in the Great Salt Lake either. There are soooooo many amazing things to see in our state! We are trying to squeeze in some time for a "feild trip"
out to Nine Mile, but life has been crazy this week! (but really, when is life not crazy?.... LOL And I don't think I would have it any other way! :-)

Sue - How cool that you went to Antelope Island! Do you know there are TONS of people who have lived here their entire lives and have NEVER been out there? And you chose a good time to go - before the heat and the brine flies.

Hey Sue Sue,
Thanks for your comment. I have been having lots of fun in the kitchen lately. Baking - not eating =( I also sewed a shopping cart cover for Gabe which I need to post pics of. I am very proud of myself. Here is the recipe for the apple syrup. Those pancakes truly are to DIE FOR!

Apple Syrup
ingredients:
1 C sugar
2 T cornstarch
1/4 t cinnamon
2 C apple juice
1 T lemon juice

method:
Stir ingredients together in a sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once bubbling, turn heat down and let simmer until it thickens just a bit. (whole recipe is on my blog)

It was fun to see you and your cute friends last night!

I love playing games when the kids are here. It sounds like you had a great visit with your friends. Do they want to move there now?
It's so cold here in Southern Utah...I'm ready to move. lol.

We LOVE uno! Glad to hear you had so much fun! Your yard is lovely. I would not worry Mimi if you have a good anti-virus program...I just want people to be aware. cherry

When did they put that visitor's center up out there? Or have I just been a total flake every time I've gone?

I love yourp ink flowers in your header--are they peonies or ranunculus? I've got to get some, that I probably will end up killing anyway. Were they at Joe's?

So glad you had such a fun time with your friends. I got my Waverly Vintage Rose curtains at a yard sale a while back. I have also gotten another pair of the curtains, valances, and a comforter set in that pattern at yard sales. I was so happy!
