Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Lorraine's Home Tour

Lorraine is my neighbor and friend. She lives in a beautiful home that she and her husband have restored. The old part of her house was built in 1855. They added a big family room, laundry room, master bedroom and bath. Her yard is gorgeous and it's been the location of several weddings and wedding receptions. She lives on about three quarters of an acre and has an old granary on the property. They've turned the granary into a place where the grandkids have slumber parties.
A lovely vegetable and rose garden on the south side of the granary...

She has people knock on her door and ask if they can take pictures of their families in her beautiful garden.

Her back door.

More of Lorraine's beautiful home tomorrow.

That was a really fun tour. Thanks for taking me. It's nice to see the yard in the light. What day this week can you play?

I know this home...I used to walk by it and covet it! I always said that I wouldn't mind living in that little part of town. Can't wait to see inside! Come say hi :D

I would be one of those people knocking on the door asking if I could photograph it. lol. It is beautiful. The first thing I noticed was the white picket fence. I have a thing for white fences, and I've never been lucky enough to have a house with one.
Tell Lorraine thank you for me for sharing her beautiful home.
