Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Mimi Knows How to Party

What a weekend! First, on Friday night, Shelli had a frightfully delightful party in her gorgeous, over-the-top, Halloween home. Here's Shelli, she's not really blurry in real life.
The welcoming committee... There was just so much I didn't get anywhere near enough pictures. You can go to Shelli's blog for more.

Her entry way...

Even the pantry was decorated...

This scarey bride was literally hanging from the chandelier. I told you it was a fun party!

The powder room. Painted black and it was gorgeous.

The basement had a full kitchen and some rather thin diners...

If this was the main course, I wouldn't eat it either.

She had several fireplaces, all of them decked out.
Her gorgeous (I know I've said this a lot but there's just no other word for it) bedroom and bath.

Can you imagine this cute gal staring at you all night? Well, at least she's got good taste. She's reading Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic.

There was lots of yummy food...

Mimi made these brownies. I usually don't like my food looking back at me, but these were OK.

Some ladies need a cosmetologist, she needed an exterminator.
I had to throw this in. Her darling little girls princess room.

On Saturday it was time for the second annual Halloween Hoot at our adorable neighbor, Tiffanie's house.

Kids from all over the neighborhood and their mommies came for a fun afternoon.

There was cupcake decorating, a fish pond, face painting, mask making...

Apple bobbing and a pumpkin toss.

This guy had on a great costume. Oh wait, it's our mailman, Dan
I haven't had such a wild weekend in years;o)

Oh My, you really do know how to party! Almost makes me tired thinking about taking down all of those decorations! LOL
And you're right, I don't think I could sleep with that "poor" dead bride sitting in the bedroom chair! lol
What a fun time you all must have had. :-) ♥ Mercy

Looks like FUN! Great party and thanks for sharing. My daughter was born on Halloween, so we always had great birthday parties for her on Halloween. Brought back memories. Mumzie :)

Love your title, made me laugh out loud!
Your camera does spooky things...I've never seen a pink wall on Shellies home until now!
It's fun to see how everyones pictures and versions of the Haunted Manor party turn out.
Even the ones that will be on tv Thursday are a different version.
It was fun having you and your friend. And the brownies...loved how fun you made them with those eyes, too fun.
Your other party looks fun also...bet the kids had alot of fun with the Halloween activities. I too had a child born oct. 25th so it was always a Halloween themed party. So fun this time of year...glad you "get out of the house" and have a good time Mimi!

Hey Party girl everything looks great, and so beautiful in pictures. I'm used to staring at it all day so it takes on a different perspective... and Yes my house may be orange, but your camera turned it pink! lol
No worries, pink, orange, they are in the same family! :)

Tiffanie had a cute party too. It sure looks like the weather cooperated with you too.
Had to laugh, even the mailman joined in.

Was that bathroom real? I think it's bigger than my kitchen. ;) You do know how to party--I wish I had a knack for throwing parties like Tiffany, or that I were one of her friends and maybe some of her creativity would rub off on me. ;)

The baby is doing good, but I think the other two boys are out to get me. Mr D is into everything and his brother isn't far behind. And they all have colds and cough incessantly. Can I whine anymore? ;)

I'm sorry Mimi, I thought I commented on this, but it looks like I didn't. You are a party animal though. YOu and Janis. I'm going to Just a Bed of Roses tomorrow. I'll probebly be there about 12:00 noon. If you can come, do.

I can't believe this party and the decorations. Unbelievable. So amazing. I have to admit all I could think of was "gosh she has to put this all away in a few days!". And the rat on the plate - that got me!!
