Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Thursday Tablescapes

I thought I'd try doing a Thursday Tablescape post. Susan, over at Between Naps on the Porch, is our wonderful host. She has a gorgeous home and a fabulous blog. You should go on over and take a look. If you aren't already a fan you soon will be.

Last week I had a little end of summer/beginning of fall luncheon for a couple of my good friends.
They say if you have more than three of something then it's a collection. Evidently I have a collection of honey pots. I think they're so cute and I do live in the Beehive State.I like to use those little egg cups for candy containers. I bought them a few years ago at an after Easter sale. I have them in yellow, green, pink and blue.
I used flowers from my garden in three small vases and those little bee cards I found on the internet somewhere. I printed them and stuck them in flower frogs.A sheer golden ribbon and a little pipe cleaner bee that I've had for awhile ties up an off white cotton napkin.I think everyone should have white plates. They're so versatile. I bought these years ago at Target. I only bought plates and every time they'd go on sale I'd go down and buy eight (they came in packages of four). I have a lot of these plates. The silver was my mother in laws. They're monogrammed. I love anything monogrammed. The water goblets are Martha Stewart and I got them at Kmart almost ten years ago. My friend bought twelve and I bought twelve. If we needed more than the twelve we had we'd just go borrow them from each other. So many people tell me they love the depression glass. I love to tell them I got them at Kmart.
We had rolls stuffed with a cheese, olive and pepper mixture and Caesar salad. We had lots of fun celebrating the changing of the seasons. Thanks for hosting this fun party Miss Susan.

Your honey pots are so cute and go so well with the fresh daisies! You just need a tiny Winnie the Pooh to go with them. Hard to believe that summer has gone and fall has arrived.
I just got some plain white dinnerware. Can't wait to swap them out. So versatile!

Very, VERY nice table! Love all your cute bumblebee items.

I, too, just bought myself some plain white dinnerware. We've all been inspired by the TT members. LOL

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go look up what state is called the "bee hive" state.

I love to watch those little bees buzzing around my garden. And here they are appearing (but not buzzing) on your cute bee tablescape!

It looks very pretty! What a fun idea. ....and your glasses do look like depression glass. White plates are a good idea. The dollar store has some pretty ones right now that I keep thinking I would like to have, they have little raised bumps around the edge. :-) Love the egg cups and the flower frogs! Oh geeze! I just loved it all! ♥

Love the Beehives. What a nice table. I saw a home w/ wooden carved beehives on the fence posts. I thought it was cute too.

LOVE the bee theme!! I signed up for a "state" charm swap. I made one for the state of Utah, the "beehive" state. I beaded little bee's & hung them on a "beehive" which was really a bead cage & included a shrinkly dink Utah shape on the clasp. They turned out so cute. I will send them out this week, for the trade.
Anyway I thanks for sharing your bee theme, it made me smile.
