Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Little Projects

The weather has not been cooperating with our outdoor project list. So we finished a few things that have been on our indoor to do list for a long time. The mister installed these cute shutters in our laundry room.
For more than a year they've sat on the sill, propped up by the window. Today they're hanging on their hinges.

It always feel so good to cross something off your list.

I've always loved the look of shutters in a window, and yours looks fantastic! And I understand your frustration about the weather not cooperating with outdoor projects. I've been trying for a couple weeks now to finish painting my porch railing!

Ah! Nothing feels quite so good as going from "leaning" to "hanging." I've had many a picture, shelf, mirror, etc that have made that journey. They're darling, by the way.

Beautiful job your husband did, Mimi. I clicked on your photo and admired two other items you have, the laundry bucket and the beautiful vintage picture.
The shutters add so much, such a clean fresh look.
I too like to check off my to do list. lol.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy your week.
Hugs,
Sue

Yay for progress! You should show the rest of your laundry room. I love looking at them since mine is in the unfinished basement and I call it the 'black hole'.
