Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Lamp Makeover

My "new" lamp for the basement playroom.

Started out as a thrift store find. In a somewhat primitive style.

A little paint...

On the shade too.
Then some left over wallpaper and a big ric rac trim to dress up the shade.

So bright and cheerful for the playroom and one more project off the list.

No, no,no that's not for you, it's for me. Just think how much cuter that would be in my sleep-over room.

Once again, LOVE your style. So me. So, so, so me. Hey, I decorated for Halloween/fall today, thus I consider myself in your accomplishment league. But now I'm sweating. And sitting. And nearly snoozing. But still, feeling pretty good about things. Not "created a lamp from nothing" good, but good nonetheless.

What a great job painting the plaid. I would not have known you had done this yourself! I love the transformation.

That's so cute--you really spraypainted the shade too? I have to try that. I got a little behind in my reading--I want your red polka-dotted silverware! And those flower centerpieces your daughter made are so darling. I would never have been able to figure out something like that on my own. Or the flowers wouldn't have stayed hot glued, or they would have fallen off the wire, or...ha. ;)

OH my goodness how very adorable. I love to give new life to worn out pieces. I have a few things just waiting for that fresh coat of paint. Maybe this weekend--thanks for the inspiration :)
