Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Sunday Sayings

"You are the guardians of the hearth. You are the bearers of the children. You are they who nurture them and establish within them the habits of their lives. No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God." Gordon B Hinckley

Good Times

The last of our company left yesterday. We had a lot of fun and we're so glad they could come. While they were here we laughed and talked, we went to the movies, we watched dvd's, and we played lots of games...
We did touristy things like visiting Antelope Island. It's an island in the Great Salt Lake.

Looking back at the "mainland". The beautiful Wasatch Mountains. One of the residents...
We did A LOT of eating...at home...

And out...

We miss you guys, come back soon. We loved every minute.

Checking In

We've been having a lot of fun with our friends. So much fun that one of the couples decided to stay a few more days. In fact they're looking at property. The other couple had to go back to work and resume their responsibilities. I'm missing blogging and so decided to do a quick post of some of our spring decorations.

Chunky chick...

I'll be back. Miss you all. Mimi

The Guest Room and Guests

We've been busy the last couple of days getting ready for company. Two of our very good friends from California are coming to spend a week. We have known these couples for many years. We raised our kids, went camping, enjoyed birthdays, endured morning sickness and the chicken pox, played softball, and almost burned down our house one fourth of July. We love them like family. We're a little older now. We all have grandchildren and we're not as spry as we were back in 1977 when we met. But we laugh and play Trivial Pursuit, we eat, we shop, and we remember. We're so glad they could come and visit. First we did some deep cleaning. It's not very fun doing it but it feels so good when it's done. Then we foofed up the guest room and set up a bed in the craft room. Janis made me the Sweet Dreams sticker on her Silhouette Machine. Cute, no?

So, I'm spending every minute that I can with them. I'll be back in about a week.
