Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. The Porch

When we started looking for a house plan one thing I really wanted was a front porch. We bought a lot in an old historic area of our little town with big trees, no curbs or gutters, and the nicest neighbors. I could just see the mister and I sitting out there in the evening, rocking in the chairs, visiting with people strolling by. We've been here for nine months and so far that just hasn't happened. But I love that porch anyway. It's there if I need it and it's another area to decorate!

That looks idyllic. I know I shouldn't be but I'm envious.

Your porch is so darling. I really need to get my red paint out and paint my back door that's just like yours. I really really like that red wooden step you have under your mat. Did your mister build it?
