Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Thrifted Treasures

I spent a little time at our local thrift store last week. I found a few treasures.

Got the birdcage painted. I have a cute idea for the plaque. It involves decoupage.
I can't resist plates.

Or something to hang them with.
I loved this little baskety thing. Is this made out of aluminum?

Someone had dropped off boxes of gardening, decorating and crafting books. I took a few home with me.

A pretty good day at the thrift store.

You found some great things. I wish our thrift stores had something other than just junk. I love the bird cage.

I love it all, but especially the "new" pink birdcage!!! Great choice!
I also loved the "fieldtrip" to the darling shop the three of you went to recently. My mouth fell open when I saw the green bed pieces with pink plaid fabric. Be still my heart. : )

I've never been good at thrift shopping. Maybe you need to teach me your secrets. There is a fun place in Bountiful, almost to Woods Cross, I can't remember what it's called. I loved your post below, my mom has told me I need to check that store out!
