Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. The Best Week Ever Part I

My best week ever started last Friday when daughter #1 and I went to a cute place called Gardner Village in Salt Lake City. We had lunch at a restaurant called Archibalds and then took a stroll around this fun fun place.During the fall the witches come out and play. Well, some poo...

Some I can totally relate to...

Some like to cook...

Some aren't very good drivers, er flyers...Some have adorable pets...
Some even like to fish...Gardner Village has lots of cute little shops and restaurants.

A cute Halloween banner.

Loved those big pumpkins carved out of tree stumps or logs or something.

One of the shops I love is a quilt and needlework shop called Pineneedles. I bought some wool and a needlework kit.

Another cute store is called Village White. Loved this circle mobile. Could I make one of these?

A trip to the Quilt Store is always a must.

Then this cute little guy needed a nap so we went home.More of the best week ever tomorrow.

What a fun place to visit. I remember my step daughter brought me to some place up there in Utah, I don't remember the name of it but it was alot of little old houses that were all cute stores, a small lake, and a great place to eat. I bet you that was the same place the more I think of it!

Mimi, I'm so glad you got to spend time with you daughter, but but but, I live close to Garner Village. I get to spend the day with my daughter, it's her birthday - no grandchildren today.

I'm very interested in that wool that you bought and the kit. Please tell me about it.

You truly captured the fun essence of strolling and shopping Gardner's Village. You showed some of our favorite shops. I have bought lots of fabric at Pineneedles for our baby quilts and right in front of the store is where our little ones love to fed the ducks and especially the fish. So a 1/2 loaf of bread is always a neccessity!
I would love to have met you for lunch there. I love not far away:)
Our grands also always NEED to get a sample of fudge at the candy shop!:-)
I am glad you ahd a great time.

Oh my, where has the time gone? I'm so behind!! But I LOVED catching up over here today. I love, love, love Gardner's Village even though I haven't been there for a very long time. I started going back in the 80's (while hubby was in Law School at U of U) when the only Shop was inside of Archibalds. Thanks so much for sharing all these pics.
Also...loved, loved, loved your little baker, cupcake and pirate. Be still my heart...So Cute!!! : )
