Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. The Best Week Ever Part III

On Tuesday I had lunch with some friends and neighbors. You'll have to take my word on that. I left my camera at home. Thursday night my cute neighbors, Vaughn and Marlene brought over this Barbie cake. Barbie was sitting on top of the cake instead of having a cake skirt. That's because the cake fell. Does that make any sense? If you've ever seen a Barbie cake you'll know what I mean. Why did they bring me a Barbie cake? It was my birthday!

My birthday is the day before Halloween. I was telling the girls when we had lunch that when I was a little kid my mom would always bake or buy a pumpkin cake. Chocolate cake, orange frosting, always. Well, once I think I had a ghost cake, but you get the idea. My sister would get little roses or ballerinas on her cakes. Her birthday was July 23rd, she got cute, girly cakes. So Marlene took pity on me and brought me a Barbie cake. Thank you Marlene. You've just saved me from years in therapy!

Great friends! You have been having a great week!
Our tween's b day is a week or so before Christmas....I try really really, really hard to use birthday paper and not christmas paper to wrap his gifts in.
However, all the rest of the year, if I actually get someones gift wraped and not just hidden in a in a pillow case.....I end up using Chrsitmas paper..... I am bad about using pillowcases for big stuff at our house! My kids wouldn't know how to have a birthday without at least one item wraped in a pillowcase. Maybe I need to pick up on your years of therapy, you have left over now that Marlene has saved you. Someone needs to save me from myself! hehehehe
Enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday! That is such a cute cake, I actually like it better than the one that looks like a skirt!

How FUN!!! Happy, Happy Birthday!
Every girl deserves a girly cake in her life.
I like Barbie on top! She is showing her legs instead of having them hidden in loads of cake and icing.
You have dear friends to make you a wonderful girly cake. I can just imagine the merriment and laughter!
Again Happy, Happy Bithday!!!
You are such a cute couple!:)

Your senior moment was an ahha, she caught up with me!
I wish I could lose a year in a senior moment!
Actually there isn't anyone of them, I would give back!:-)
I am finding out some good hints. Click on dad's lady friend first picture. That is not skin of a 95 year old!RoC is what I decided to get try. Then Jean from Quincy Cottage has skin that looks fantastic! She uses an Obigi treatment. I checked it out!
Also Manuela gave a great hint about our necks. Mine is doing the sagging waltz a bit too enthusiastically!
Don't we love this time in our lives? ;] Actually the grandchildren sure make up for it!

LOL..that is so funny! But first of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mimi...hope it was a really good one. That cake is so funny, did you eat it anyway? So from now on, you'll have to spoil yourself and have any kind you want!
I had one birthday cake as I grew up, I don't know why, Mom just didn't make them. My one cake was a rabbit that my older sister made for me. Come say hi :D

Happy birthday susie...how fun to have a Barbie cake...not many of us have had one of those.
I do have to say...I think its a Halloween Barbie cake...look at all the treats on it and around it!
I'm chuckling about Julie H. comment...my mother was really bad about parties, cakes etc, and still is...gee I thought I was the only one.
It made me do the opposite, so I guess that's good.
